Centenary Celebrations 2021/2022

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown in New Zealand in 2021, the Legion of Mary centenary celebration began with the praying of the Rosary on 7 – 8 September 2021 on ZOOM. Rosaries were offered for the Centenary of the Legion and in celebration of the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary respectively. When the lockdown restrictions were finally lifted in 2022 the NZ Senatus decided to hold its major celebration as planned on Saturday 18th June 2022.

A Centenary Thanks-Giving Mass was celebrated by Bishop Stephen Lowe DD, the Bishop of Auckland, followed by enlightening talks from a selected panel of prominent speakers in the country who focused on topics relating to Our Mother Mary, Jesus her Son, the Holy Family; and reflect on the life of those who truly devoted their lives to Mary. The legion prayers were recited and there was ample time for fellowship over meals and drinks.

St Michael Church in Remuera | 6 Beatrice Road | 8:30AM – 4:30PM | Lunch and refreshments provided. Below is the program of the day:
